In April of 2007 Barry Sanders and Greg Smith started work with the KCPA. Barry and Greg have over 70 years combined experience in Construction and Engineering. The mission of KCPA is to have more quality pavements in Kentucky and thus most effectively spend infrastructure dollars. To do this KCPA is partnering with the Kentucky Ready Mix Association, ACI and the Southeast Cement Association to promote and market quality concrete pavements. This includes airport runways, interstates, local streets, roads and alleys or interior streets in new developments. KCPA in collaboration with KRMCA has presented educational/promotional programs to various engineering, construction, and government groups; and, also technical training on topics such as Pervious Concrete Design and Concrete Street Design, etc. KCPA will work with agencies and universities in the upcoming year on researching and training and will be a resource for concrete information. Many research bulletins and up to date information from the American Concrete Pavement Association are available through KCPA. Information such as jointing, best practices, pervious concrete, fast setting concrete, and sustainable construction are available. See links page for some of the many internet resources available. |
